C’est Lui qui tient la terr’ dans Sa main,
Comme une fine’ poussièr’ dans Sa main,
Les océans, les mers dans Sa main,
Le monde entier est dans Sa main.
1. Ainsi parl’ l'Éternel des armées:
N'imitez pas la voie des nations,
Et ne craignez pas les signes’ du ciel,
Même si les nations les craignent.
2. Nul n'est semblable à notre Seigneur!
Son nom est grand par Sa puissance.
L'Éternel est Dieu en vérité,
Il est vivant et éternel.
3. Qui ne craindrait le Roi des nations?
C'est à Lui seul que la crainte est due;
Car, parmi tous les sages’ des nations,
Personne n'est semblable à Lui.
4. Tous, en effet, et sans exception,
Ils sont stupides et insensés,
Toute leur science n'est que néant,
Et leur dieu n'est que du bois!
5. La terr’ tremble devant Sa colère,
Les nations ne support’nt Sa fureur.
Les dieux de néant disparaîtront
De la terre et de dessous les cieux.
6. La terr’ fut créée par Sa puissance,
Le monde fondé par Sa sagesse,
Et les cieux par Son intelligence.
Le monde entier est dans Sa main.
7. À Sa voix, les eaux mugiss’nt aux cieux;
Il fait monter les nuages’ de la terre,
Il produit les éclairs et la pluie,
Il tir’ le vent de Ses trésors.
8. Les idoles ne sont que mensonge,
Et il n'y a point en elles de souffle,
Elles’ ne sont qu’une chose’ de
néant,
Qui périront lors du châtiment.
9. Celui qui est la part de Jacob
N'est pas com’ ces idoles de bois;
C’est Lui le Dieu qui a tout formé,
L'Éternel des armées est Son nom.

It’s Him, who holds the earth in His hand,
Like a tiny fine dust in His hand,
The oceans and the seas in His hand,
The whole world is in His hand.
1. This is what the Lord Almighty says:
"Do not learn the ways of the nations
Or be dismayed at signs in the sky,
Though the nations are dismayed at them."
2. There is none like You, O Most High God;
For Your name is mighty in power,
You are the true and the living God;
You are the everlasting King.
3. Who wouldn’t fear the King of the nations?
For this is truly His rightful due.
Among all the wise men of the earth,
No one is like the Lord, our God.
4. Altogether with no exception,
They are all dull-hearted and foolish;
They’re taught by worthless wooden idols.
No one is like the Lord, our God.
5. When He is angry, the earth trembles;
The nations cannot endure His wrath.
These worthless gods will soon perish from
The earth and from under the heav’ns.
6. He has made the earth by His power,
Established the world by His wisdom,
And the heavens at His discretion.
The whole world is in His hand.
7. When He thunders, there’s in the heavens
A multitude of waters; He makes
Clouds to rise from the ends of the earth,
Brings the wind out of His treasuries.
8. For the moulded image is falsehood,
And they have no breath in them at all.
They are futile, a work of errors;
That shall perish when their judgment comes.
9. He who is the portion of Jacob
Is not like the vain wooden idol
For He is the Maker of all things,
The Lord Almighty is His name.
