1. Jésus dit à Ses disciples’:
J’ai pitié de cett’ foule.
Car voilà trois jours qu’ils sont
Près de Moi, et ils n’ont rien à manger.
Je ne’ veux pas les renvoyer
À jeun, de peur qu’ils ne’
défaill’nt en chemin.
Les disciples’ Lui dir’nt:
D’où aurions-nous
Dans le désert de quoi nourrir une telle foule?
2. Et Jésus leur dit, combien avez-vous de pains? Et
Ils dirent, sept, et quelques
Petits poissons. Alors Il fit asseoir
La foul’ par terr’, prit les sept
Pains et les poissons, et, Il rendit grâces…
Il les rompit et les donna à Ses
Disciples, qui les distribuèr’nt à la
foule.
3. Tous mangèr’nt à
satiété, et puis l’on emporta
Sept corbeilles pleines des
Morceaux qui restaient. Et ceux qui avaient
Mangé étaient quatre mill’
Hommes, sans les femmes et les enfants.
Oui, Jésus nourrit une grande foule,
Rien qu’avec sept pains et quelques petits poissons.

1. Jesus called His disciples and said, "I’ve compassion
On the crowd, ’cause they’ve been with
Me now three days, and have nothing to eat;
And I don’t want to send them
Away hungry, lest they faint on the way."
His disciples answered, "Where could we get
Enough bread in the desert to feed such a crowd?"
2. How many loaves do you have?
Jesus asked. And they said, seven, and a few small fish.
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground.
Then He took the seven loaves
And the fish, and when He had given thanks…
He broke and gave them to the disciples,
And the disciples gave them to the multitude.
3. So they all ate and were filled, and the disciples took
Up seven baskets full of
The broken pieces that were left over.
And all those who ate were four
Thousand men, besides women and children.
Jesus gave food to a great multitude,
Just with seven loaves and a few little fishes.
